Graduation Night
Assalamualaikum wrt and hi!
Three days ago was the graduation and awards evening and of
course I attended this event. We’ve been rehearsed for like 4 days only for the
introducing session, but it’s cool. Even though a lot of student complaint
relentlessly about why we had to practice , confiding that it’s just a small
matter , and many more. Bila mr Byrnes
stared at you, baru kau gelabah.
But still, it’s cool.
An hour before I went to the venue, my father sparked a
little problem. I was so anxious, mulling over if we would be late to come.
Man, it must be embarrassing to be the last person while rushing to the
ballroom. I’m the type of the “prompt” person. But it was such a relief to see
my father’s car waiting for me outside few minutes later.
I wore jubbah. Yup. Nothing impressive about this garment.
The only thing that I like is a series of sequins along my sleeves and they’re
sparkly. I’m not a choosy person, though. As long as it covers my aurat, I’m
good.
The first person I met was Lea and her mother. She was
carrying ukulele bag because she would do a performance later. Me? No, thanks.
Maybe next time, when I have found my talent. Lol Very out of topic.
I greeted her mother, it was my first time to see her but
she’s cool and friendly, just like her daughter. I thought I was too early but
there were actually more students when I reached 5th floor which was
the level of where the ballroom was located. I stepped inside and I looked
around, hoping to see my friends but they hadn’t coming yet. Sighed and I found
Kenny. He’s very cute in a casual shirt. Oh. He’s 6th grader, though
and he’s friendly with everyone. I like to treat him like a little brother so
please don’t misunderstand.
Everyone looked very elegant. They were no joke. Most of
their dresses were made of silk and I knew they were expensive at the first
sight. And sexy. That’s expectable.
After the speeches and the presentation session (which I had
no comment about it because I chattered with Hasan who was also bored with his
nonstop complain about how hungry he was and more), it’s time to deliver the
awards. Way to sum up, I got 8 certificates of Excellencies in every subjects
and 1 certificate of promotion to High School, Alhamdulillah. I sat next to
Hasan and he got 3 awards. Not bad. A 7th grader Chinese boy also
got 7 awards. Well, I wasn’t that surprised because I always heard that he was
the cleverest student in middle school.
As the photo session ended, everyone scrambled around and
took photos with each other. It’s unfortunate I didn’t bring my phone. We ate
the starter dish and we were already full. I started to sulk, I shouldn’t have
eaten the mushroom soup because there were still more, and the main dish and
dessert were served.
Suddenly, a group of high school boys came to the stage and voila!
There they were, dancing as they were supposed to be, following the devised
choreography. Even though it’s funny, but it’s totally awesome!! Everyone left
their table and ran towards the stage. I craned from my table because the front
stage was already full with people. The crowd went crazy! And it’s totally
awesome!!
I will miss this unforgettable moment. And forever will.
